If I could give this book 4.5 stars up in the ratings I would because it was definitely better than a four, but not quite a five. This book is a little similar to The Fault In Our Stars, but after that book any YA novel about teens with cancer will instantly be compared to TFIOS. But Zac & Mia isn't quite as big of a tear-jerker as TFIOS is, which might make it a little easier to read. The book follows the lives of Zac & Mia, two 17 year old aussies that have two different types of cancer and two very different attitudes about their cancer. Having gone through a stressful situation concerning my health and body (not cancer, but just as scary at times) and it was tough to maintain a positive outlook but I tried. Which is why reading Mia's side of the story, who basically talks like her life is over because she isn't the same anymore, was a struggle. Numerous times I wanted to yell at her and tell her to be happy she was even alive. Luckily Zac was there to do it for me and eventually she comes around. The end of this book is hard to take and sad for a number of reasons. But there is a very bright side to it as well. I definitely reccommend this book to fans of TFIOS and just people in general because I feel it helps open your eyes to the struggle of cancer or any disease/health problem that is simply out of your control.

Frustratingly angsty, even acknowledging the subject matter.

Honestly so happy with everything in this book. I loved this book so much.

Mia sucks. This book draws the obvious comparison to TFIOS, but comparing the two would be an insult. Nothing really HAPPENS in this book. Mia is not so much a manic pixie dreamgirl, but more of a Manic Narcissistic Asshole - so I guess that's a cool new trope. I hated her mopeyness. I hated how she couldn't care less about everyone around her. So much of the dialogue felt forced and lame. I rolled my eyes every few pages. Instalove for sure. It took me over a week to trudge through and I did mostly because I hate DNFing. I threw the book when I was done. Just not for me whatsoever. Will be passing this on to the donation bin.

I could not stop reading this book! It is so easy to read and has a lovely Australian voice. I'm so glad I finally read this book, I highly recommend it.

The story felt a little slow at times but the character development really keeps you hooked on the story. I came here bc I watched the show on go90 but was pleasantly surprised when the story was a lot more developed and had a lot more to tell than the show.

Uma história sobre medo e coragem. Acho q não posso falar mais do que isso!

So that was really good. And my head is still swarming with how it ended so I can't think of anything else to say.
