Once again Erikson takes a hard left and challenges you while he paints a new corner of the world in all its glorious, dark, funny and poignant moments, characters and actions. This is a deep and rich world and utterly worth your time.
Ah! Another entry done. And it was another hard one to get through. Nay, trudge through.
We are introduced to another fuck-ton of characters and their pseudonyms and their alternate names and their secret identities etc etc. I have zero clue about what happened in half of this book. Because I was again overwhelmed.
The silver-lining was a few characters. Like Bugg and Tehol. Or maybe the Sengar brothers. I followed their story lines. And rest of the time I was zoned out of my fucking mind.
Yet, I liked the whole experience somehow. Maybe because of the last line by Bugg.
Onto Bonehunters, where everything till now is supposed to make sense. Oy vey.

I was not expecting comedy in such a gruesome and violent series but I can honestly say that I really enjoyed
it and I hope it’s continued in future books. This book still gruesome and violent though, I can’t picture and Malazan book not being so.

Painful, poignant, and tragic as fuck. Some vindication, but nowhere near enough. Easily the most painful book yet, in this series. Brace yourself.
