Ok, so until the dedication I never noticed the title has a dirty hidden word in there! Wonder if anyone else noticed? Leave it to Lauren Blakely to slide that bad boy in there! Obviously, I loved Big Rock, that's a no brainer! Spencer truly is a genuinely good guy! In fact, I need me a real life Spencer Holiday of my own! Big Rock is full of laughs and sexiness! I loved being inside Spencer's head, the guy is hilarious and you just can't help but love him! Charlotte was truly perfect for him and I loved seeing their best friendship turn into a real relationship! Looking forward to Mister Orgasm!

Me aburri tanto leyendo esto, que me saltee parrafos enteros. No esta mal escrito, pero no me transmitio nada, ni una sonrisa.

hot and sexy friends to.lovers. the story is told entirely from his POV which was fun.

It was so refreshing to read a whole book from the male protagonists pov, I have never read one before and I loved it! Kind of a typical boy opens his big mouth and his BFF (Best Female Friend) steps up to help and they fall in love for real. Super cute, very sexy and on that note the sex was hot too.

Such an easy read, and what romance lover doesn't enjoy reading about best-friends falling in love. The whole ordeal was adorable apart from the sex.

WOW!!! What a way to start 2016! I can guarantee you you that Big Rock by Lauren Blakely will be on my Best of 2016 list and I haven't even done my 2015 list yet. Seriously, I absolutely LOVED this book! I never have time for re-reads, but I may need to re-read this one (I'm hoping it comes out on audio so I can re-listen).

Big Rock has me on page one of the prologue.
"My dick is fucking awesome. But don't just take my word for it. Consider all its accomplishments. First, let's start with the obvious one. Size. Sure, some people will tell you that size does not matter. You know what I'll tell you? They lie. You don't want a tiny diamond on your finger when you can have three carats. You don't want a one-dollar bill when you can have a Benjamin. And you don't want to ride a miniature pony when you can saddle up on a rock-star cock at the rodeo of your pleasure."

Spencer sounds like a cocky asshole, right? The thing is, he's confident, he's rich, he's New York's eligible bachelor...but he's also a GOOD GUY. Really! He's loyal to his family and wants to help his dad in any way possible. His dad is trying to sell their 5th Avenue jewelry store (think Tiffany) so he can retire and spend time traveling with his wife. Since both of his kids have their own careers, he's looking for a buyer, but the one they have is very conservative. Spencer's playboy status just won't cut it. So to save the deal for his dad, he blurts without thinking that those days are behind him, because he is engaged. To his best friend and business partner.
“Ouch. I’ve just handcuffed my favorite appendage for the next few weeks. But that’s okay. I can do this. I can pretend to be engaged. I can put my dick on ice. So to speak.”

Charlotte, his beautiful best friend and business partner agrees to go along with the ruse because she has an ex that won't back off. Saying she's engaged to the big hot guy is enough to get rid of any guy. But as soon as they have to really pretend, things start to change.
“Charlotte is kissing me.
On the streets of New York.
Her lips on mine.
She tastes fantastic."

As much as he tries to fight it, his dick knows what it wants, and it's Charlotte.

Big Rock

Big Rock was told entirely from Spencer's point of view. I love a good male POV book that isn't related to another book and this was done perfectly. There was little angst, lots of smiles, amazing sex, dirty talking and many laugh out loud moments!

Likes:

  • •Despite a cocky (literally) hero, he was genuinely a good guy.

  • •Had me giggling and smiling throughout.

  • •I fell for both the heroine and the hero and his family.

  • •No unnecessary drama just for drama sake.

  • •Oh boy can Spencer dirty talk!

  • •The sex....mmmmm...the sex. Spencer is ALL ABOUT pleasing the woman.

  • •As soon as I finished I wanted to start it all over again.

Dislikes:

  • •Absolutely NOTHING. I wouldn't change a thing.

The Down and Dirty:

Big Rock by Lauren Blakely is literally a PERFECT book for me. I read to be happy and this book made me happy in so many ways! It was sweet, romantic, sexy, funny, hot as hell, a male point of view, and I loved all of the characters. It honestly scares me that this was my first read of 2016 because I can't imagine it getting much better than this. Not only am I sure that Big Rock will be on my best of 2016 list already, but this will be an all-time favorite. Lauren Blakely has a big new fan in me!

I did it for the puns

This was cute and short and super sweet. Loved it.

Did I love this? No. Will I remember it in two days? Probably not. But did I smile my way through this? Yes indeed I did! I don't actually read that many contemporary romances (although I think my recent books may now start belying that statement), but the sub-trend of male pov is kinda fun. Here Spencer, only son of a jewelry store chain owner and founder of a hit dating app and current owner of a trio of bars in NYC, narrates the story. He claims that his best friend and business partner Charlotte is actually his fiance to appease a conservative, family-values potential buyer for his dad's jewelry business. Cue the fake dating.

Spencer is a playboy who's never had a real relationship but at least doesn't have toxic ideas about women.
SpoilerThe potential buyer turns out to be an incredibly misogynistic dick, but who, thank god, doesn't get to buy the business! And all important characters think his behavior is reprehensible.
All in all, not bad.
