Alessandra is tired of Dominic putting work ahead of their marriage. Their love story was epic and beautiful but slowly he lost sight of what was most important over the constant need to climb the corporate ladder and then stay up there. He thought that providing the love of his life with wealth and status was more important than time and affection. But when he misses a huge milestone and comes home to find his wife gone he knows he’s really a messed up this time. Alessandra is finally putting herself and her dreams first. All she wants is to move on but Dominic isn’t going quietly. His wedding vows meant everything and he’s determined to win his wife back no matter the cost.

You guys this book broke me. I cried, I sobbed, I was a mess for most of this book but I was utterly captivated by their beautifully imperfect love story. We get these poignant flashbacks showing their backstory in juxtaposition with their current broken relationship which just really showed how much things had changed and how bad they let it get before Alessandra took extreme measures. There were times when I was frustrated with her stubbornness but looking back at all she’s been through it was hard to fault her for wanting to protect her heart from further damage.

And poor Dominic. He figured out just a little too late what he had done but this man did not come to play. He was getting his wife back. The way he pushed when he needed to and backed off when she needed it really drove home that these two were end game. This book is definitely going to hurt you but the HEA is so satisfying because of how much work and growth it took for them to get there.

I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy the marriage in trouble trope but this one really blew me away. If you’re ready for a whole lot of angst and a worthwhile happily ever after then you need to pick this one up ASAP!

ana needs to move away from the twisted universe & take her time writing, she’s gonna end up as the next colleen hoover

the fact they actually got divorced really bothered me

Only because his groveling (or the lack there of) was just as bad as Josh's. Alex needs to show them how it's done.

Si je devais associer une phrase à ce livre, ce serait sans hésiter : « On se rend compte de la valeur de quelque chose — ou de quelqu’un, en l’occurrence — une fois qu’on l’a perdu. »

I would’ve given it a higher rating if the layout wasn’t weird
