Het boek las erg makkelijk weg. Ik vond het opzich wel leuk maar het was wel een hele lange aanloop. Ik haakte een beetje af bij Ramsey McRamson en de schapen die op schoolreis gingen naar het eiland maar ik heb daardoor soms ook wel erg gelachen.

I liked the setting of the book (off-grid island), but the MC was a complete bitch for no reason other than Jenny Colgan wanting to force a haters-to-lovers trope. Disappointing to be honest. I haven't been enjoying her books lately.

I don't read many books that are classified as "romance," but I understand the appeal. They follow a kind of formula that doesn't usually make you think too hard, and you already have a good idea of how it will end, even if you aren't sure how exactly how they'll get there.
After reading so many heavy books in a row, this was a fun break. I'll keep this author in mind for next time I need a fun story with a happy ending.

I was in a bit of a reading stumped and thought a very easy to read romance might help me get over it. In a way it did, the plot was easy to follow, the characters nice enough, all a tiny bit of the top bit entertaining enough. (15 May 2025)

It's always a treat to get to spend a book seeing the world through a very particular person's perspective and I really enjoyed that we were given two contrasting perspectives that butted against each other for most of the book. A very nice read that went quickly but felt deep and lingering.
