These books are super short and super easy to get through. After fleeing on a mission to avenge a murder, Olina finds herself as a fighter in a whole system of illegal fights. She thrives at it and finds it difficult to motivate herself to the world of political treachery from which she originates.

The synopsis of this book is like deliberately vague because so much weird stuff is constantly happening. I will say that I like the different elements of the worlds and I think that they're super interesting. I don't like the pacing of it all that much though, like the transitions are so abrupt and each part of the story is so strangely separated. I don't think that the kind of separation which is implied could actually be achieved given the other descriptions of the world. They say her height is super unique and yet no one puts together her disappearance with the appearance of another of the same height? It's a little bit hard to believe.

I didn't like this book as much as the last especially for the introduction of the new world. It's obviously going to be important to the rest of the story but I feel like it was just kind of thrown in there. I'm also kind of mad at Olina for running so much. I understand her motivations and the traumas which she experienced but it would be a lot better if she could talk things out. I'm looking forward to seeing where her relationships with everyone goes but I'm also pretty nervous.

Give me a moment to collect myself. I feel like a little piece of my soul just got crushed when I saw how long I have to wait for the next book.
But this book was all I needed and more. We get to meet a whole new group of friends and Olina (or Frost, as she's known to her new friends) becomes so much stronger in so many different ways. She gets more romance in this book, not a lot, but the build up is cute and I was practically jumping for joy when it happened. People from the 1st book come back into play and it ties everything together and the characteristics of both Olina and Frost shape one confident, awesome woman. I cannot (but I have to) wait for the next book. January seems way too far away.

Book two was my least favorite in the series. There was a *lot* of fighting. But the heroine was good enough to keep me interested, and the author does a good job building unlikely teams of characters to root for.

Can this series get any better? I seriously devour every single letter, word, page and chapter like a drowning person gasps for air. My poor fingers cannot handle the biting, but here I am reading. I cannot even put into words how much I love the style and the world building and the character development. Not only do you fall in love with poor ignorant Olina from the very first page you go on and get attached to all the supporting characters! I want to live there. In the world or Kelly's head. Whatever is achievable.

I can't explain how mad I am at this book because is as if everything that happened in book one didn't matter at all. And can we please stop making protagonist who cannot make a decision because the can't handle their feelings and therefore they decided to run in every situation?????? I HATE THAT.

-The princess discovers the secret behind her face??? SHE RUNS AND JOIN A FIGHT CLUB.
-The princess who run away suddenly sees the king from far away, a king who's searching for her because he's fucking scared because he doesn't know if she's okay? SHE RUNS AND HIDE.
-And then she sees some of the king guards months after her disappearance searching for her?SHE ONLY COMPLAINS because HOW DARE HER FRIENDS AND THE KING KEEP SEARCHING FOR HER, and then she runs.
-The princess is found but she's under disguised at the palace for everyone besides the king and she doesn't want to be recognized, and then her puppy (WHOM SHE ABANDON PREVIOUSLY IN ORDER TO RUN AWAY) sees her and she doesn't want for her puppy to come for her??? SHE RUNS AND SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT HATING DOGS so no one could make the connection.
-and my personal favorite, the princess and the king have sex and the next morning she wakes up first and can't stand the feeling that the king is going to hurt her feelings??? (because that's the fucking logic she has) SHE RUNS AWAY AGAIIIIIN.
- And when she FINALLY returns she plays the victim all the time.

I'm mad because I could see the potential of the story, of the slow burn romance, of the characters, but the way everything was happening just made me angry. I won't read the rest of the series because I don't want to be disappointed again.
