Kate Mosse

3.8 AVERAGE

Slow start, but very good once you are into it. Good detail about the French Resistance in WWII

(inc spoilers). It's such a shame a great story is let down by terrible writing. I really struggled to get through this book and couldn't connect with the characters. It felt like she hadn't done her research completely, and any love themes seemed very rushed. However, I finally connected to the characters and felt for them at the end, and then they were all murdered!

And another trilogy finished. Like with most series: the next books don't live up to the expectations set by the first. Certainly entertaining, though not intriguing enough to go beyond an average rating.

Slower to warm up than the first 2 books if my memory serves. But you soon find yourself engrossed and willing the characters on hoping that everything will be all right in the end. I thoroughly enjoyed the book & thought it a fitting end to the trilogy

I love Kate Mosse. Her books make me want to head back to France and stay in the Languedoc! I love the parrallel story lines and the way that you can't put it down. Amazing, enthralling books.

I was, unfortunately, too bored to finish it.
