This book is truly beyond words. It was action packed from beginning to end and it had me not wanting to put the book down and reading from morning to night with how amazing the plot was. I knew this book was going to be war heavy but MAN the WHOLE BOOK WAS A BIG OLD WAR. When it got to the part where Maeve said ‘wake up’ I was like ain’t no way I just read this whole book for it to be a DREAM. My #1 fear is to read a book and for that to be the ending so I almost put the book down and DNF. Thank the gods I didn’t because the ending … crying in the club. I do love a good happily ever after but that final goodbye with the core 3 had me SOBBING. It truly did start and end with them and I am so happy they all lived to see it through together. I wish one of the main characters did end up going though because I feel like every fantasy book ends with every character living and happy but what can ya do? I NEED more books so I can see Manon and Dorian together. I’m insanely happy Rowan and Aelin get to live happily ever after in Terrasen after all they went through but I’m not ready to let them go yet :’( this book was amazing. Fully exceeded my expectations … now on to Crescent City!

It is very possible that this is all due to me PMS-ing, but I cried so many times from start to finish... so many reunions, torture scenes, deaths, happy moments.. it was all very emotional and made me cry very often, which I hate and love at the same time.
This was actually a great ending to the whole series. So many characters were somehow woven together and it all made sense for their stories. Also, the pacing just felt right for all the POVs we had. Rowan finally redeemed himself in my eyes after Empire of Storms, so I love him again, and Aelin learned from her mistakes and is trying to communicate better. Loved all the side characters arcs as well, especially Lysandra and Lorcan's stories. The ending was a nice mix of sobbing due to sadness and happiness. Ofc, there were some things that were just whipped out of thin air, but SJM does like to do that, and it wasn't as bad as Crescent City 3, so I'm not angry. Also, I did not expect Gavriel and the Thirteen's stories to hit me as hard, but they were the best ones I think, and that's when I properly sobbed.

Loved it and didn’t want it to end
Not to be dramatic…. But I think I might cry that this series is over. I am absolutely in love with every one of these characters. So sad to see them go. Even though this book was 1,000 pages, I still feel that the ending came too quickly. Everything happened too perfectly. But the ending was so happy so I really can’t complain :)
