I will never recover from this book. It has been a year since I read it and I still cry every time I see a quote or watch a reel about it. This is the most epic ending to the best fantasy series I have ever read. Tolkiens books are works or art, but this series makes me so emotional. The characters all have flaws but you love them more than anything. What I would give to live in this world with these characters. I do not expect to ever find a better series and that makes me a little depressed. I am forever changed by this series and this book.

Such a good ending to this series. This whole series was a wild ride but this book -Kingdom of Ash- was really just one emotional roller coaster!
Overall enjoyed the series. Generally liked the plot, action, and magic. Wish there were more deaths of main characters so as to validate how high the stakes were made out to be. Also felt like some storylines weren’t completely necessary.

I've been sitting here for hours trying to figure out how to review this book. 5 star book! Great ending to the series. The tears. So. Many. Tears. How people are able to work while reading this (heeey perk of unemployment) I don't understand. This was an epic way book with so many battles, greatly described. The tension! The fear! The triumphs! But it is also a book on determination, love, NEVER YIELDING. So amazing. So sad I waited this long to read it! (Also spotted the two tiny Eastern eggs for Crescent City and ACOTAR).

Silly silly silly. Angered me to my core.
Chaol and Yrene — Chaol is my boy. I hate how many reviews hate on him. He is grumpy, perfect and amazing and now he’s got the baddest healer as his wife??? He won
Dorian and Manon ? I beg where is the ending for them we deserve ?? Perfect. They are just something special together (and separate)
Aelin and Rowan — perfect. Fell back in love with them in this book amazing. Was annoyed at Aelin for a hot min after the last couple of books but she brought it back !!
Elide and Locran — cute. Wish we had more of them. My heart was so full when she got on that horse!!!
Lysandra and Aedion — was there really any need for THAT plot? Glad they got their small moment but like …a real slow burn for not much pay off
Gavriel— do I need to repeat how ANGRY I am about that? There was no need for him to die but at least give him a better goodbye. To be back with aedions mum or for it to have been an actual sacrifice but like … what was that
Fenrys — I love you so much I hope you have the best time exploring baby
The baddies — amazing. Maeve and Erowan or however he is spelling his name… hated them. Loved to hate them.
The king ? Now I’m sad. Hated the Dorian name but loved everything else. RIP big man!
The thirteen? Don’t think I’ve sobbed that much in a hot minute
