A REALLY good book if you have the stomach for it, but also just incredible fucked up. The story changes perspective every other chapter, and I gotta say I wasn't super invested in the first half. Gillian's got a great hand for pacing and dramatic twists, and you spend the whole book not knowing what's coming next or who to sympathize with (the answer is no one, they're all pretty deplorable).

This book is vicious. I adore how you never truly like or trust Nick and Amy. You always feel that there is something we as an audience dont know. I mean I can't help but root for Amy as a girls girl but both Nick and Amy are hardcore narcissistic sociopaths. They both truly believe that they're in the right and the other deserves death or jail time. Its amazing how Flynn makes both Dunnes people you hope make it out and people you hope go to prison. I just wish it was formatted a little more comprehensively.

This book was brilliant. It took me a bit to read because I’ve been busy, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Even by the time I found out what actually happened, I was still questioning the narratives. Flynn did such a good job at making the characters seem just trustworthy enough while also making you question everything. I thought the writing was brilliant, the plot was planned so well, and the descriptions were also written beautifully.
The only thing I will say is PLEASE check the trigger warnings on this book!

The premise of this book is so…
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it but at times it seemed a little slow.

Their relationship is so toxic. I feel ‘toxic’ doesn’t even do them justice. Amy is just crazy, but there are glimpses of her that seem…humane. And Nick..,I don’t even know. No character in this book is lovable, but that’s okay.
I also didn’t like the use of vulgar, descriptive profanities in this book.

I didn’t like the ending, but it seem befitting for them, you know?

Overall, this book was a rollercoaster. Would recommend.

Woof. Not unreadable. Not great. It’s mostly just fine.

I found myself rushing through it, not because I enjoyed it, but because I wanted to get it over with - like a chore. Nick’s voice, especially in the first half of the book is very irritating. The worst part was the end. Felt like the author was rushing to finish it and also didn’t know how to finish it. The ending was kind of terrible. It had the potential to be good, which was ultimately the most disappointing.

Beginning- annoying
Middle - good!
Ending - very bad.
