Very very slow. Roughly a third of the way through and nothing had really happened and hadn’t learnt much about the characters either.

Not Margret Atwood's best, found the main character annoying and her decision very sketchy. The last few pages were disturbing.

Oh good Lord classic 1960's feminism that reminds me so much of that from which we came. If any of you have forgotten, this Atwood will remind you, and is an excellent read before you turn to her new release, The Year of the Flood, which I am anxious to acquire either by purchase or library card. She makes rangible the inherent conflicts of being female in our society.

Couldn’t connect or like any of the characters. Was rather disgusted with all of them. I had high hopes for this book but it was a major let down. Unhauling it
