"The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition"- Carl Sagan

I am amazed by the greatness of this book. I just. I thought it was awesome!
I must admit I was not the happiest of campers going back into this world. The truth is, I had a hard time reading the first book in the series. I liked it, but I wasn't amazed. However, this one had all the things I love most about every book I read. Complex relationships, moral questions, traveling to places, weird but awesome wildlife, a great world!

A Hero for Wondla mixes sci-fi with dystopia or at least does so in my eyes. It reminded me a bit of the Chaos Walking trilogy but less dark, and more... wild because of the wilderness, so actual weird species, plants, and animals. I also loved the illustrations. They were fantastic, even if a bit spoilery at times.

But, as always my soft spot is earned relationship moments, and boy did this book delivered on those? Rovender and Eva have a truly sweet, and strong relationship. They are the true definition of found family. I am so happy.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE FINAL BOOK IN THIS TRILOGY! I AM GLOWING!

Sorry for the choppiness of this commentary. I JUST HAVE ALL OF THE FEELINGS.

Good follow-up.

THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD!! AHHH!! More world building regarding the last humans!! Sad moments and touching moments!!! Hilarious moments and stressful moments!!!! This second installment was on par with the first in terms of enjoyment levels. Maybe not the exact same because the first one was discovering a whole different world and the excitement of that was a new thing. But also in this one we dove deeper into the world of the humans Eva encounters. It had such a good ending too that I can't wait to read the next!! I also gotta say, I read this book all in one go. I started it before going to sleep and then I literally could not get myself to stop reading until it was over.
