So good, so sweet. There were twists, there were turns. There were besties and their woes. A great book about friendship, what love can mean, the publishing industry and abortion access in Ireland in the early 2010s.

Does this give Sally Rooney vibes because they’re both Irish and use the same audiobook narrator or is this just Irish fiction? I guess I need to read more stories by Irish authors to figure it out. Anyway, if you enjoy Sally Rooney’s stories, you’ll enjoy this. Though this does have more of a definitive storyline than Rooney’s books and not as much of an abrupt ending, but still kind of open ended. So like the vibes are similar, but the execution is a little different.

Overall, I wouldn’t say this is a funny story. More so a story about a group of people trying to survive the recession and the incident that connects them. There are some funny moments sprinkled throughout, but not enough that I would classify this as a comedy.
