Very digestible book with a messy main character reflecting on her early 20s. This book reminds us of how unpredictable the future is and how those around us can deeply impact our lives. I found the ending to be somewhat rushed, however, and it left me with questions. There were also many characters I disliked, specifically the older adults and their dynamics with 20-21 year olds.

so so hilarious. this book was dramatic, tragic, and surprising. just how i like 'em

also, "The geyser was beautiful, and it splashed everyone, and the splash was so happily received that it felt like a version of Sea World for people who read The New York Times on their phone," is the single, funniest sentence i have read this year

I wish I had quit this book. It was long, unnecessarily dragged out and nothing really happens.

A charming novel about the messiness of your 20s, and that overwhelming feeling of trying to figure out life, love, and friendships when you are stuck on the cusp between childhood and adulthood. The characters felt real and relatable, although I don’t feel like much effort was put into exploring James’ development and growth.

The ending was everything that I hoped for, and left the reader with the closure that the needed, and the characters with the closure that they deserved.

The writing made it easy to fall into the lives of the characters. I was able to relate to so many characters in the book, they felt like real people to the point where I had a dream about them, lol!

I usually cannot empathize AT ALL with the cheater in books, but I found myself wanting the best for everyone in this story and it was refreshing to finish a book feeling satisfied with how things went.

Your expectations of this book will be met, guaranteed

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 stars… I really really liked this book! You think you’re going in to it with a story about an Irish girl in college who has a crush on her professor….. it’s. So. Much. More. Than. That. Growing up. Loves lost. Loves found. Coming out. Heartbreaks. Tough decisions. Swindling. Lying. It’s a lot. And for the first time, I felt content and happy with the ending of a book!
