I'm not a big murder mystery person, but this book was recommend to me, so I thought I'd give it a try. Cool concept overall, easy read, but definitely not a book to turn me into a mystery reader.

To say this book has twists is an understatement. This was a ride that I didn't want to end. I can understand why some people would DNF early because there are so many characters, and we have no idea what is happening. When the rules were introduced, I think around day three, I was hooked. Mr. Turton got me. I would recommend this one if you enjoy mysteries with many characters and multiple views of the same.

I thought there was a lot of unnecessary plot points that didn’t add to the overall story. I just wanted a nice straightforward mystery!!

this to me above all is a tale about love and human connection!!! aiden and anna went into blackheath with nothing but hatred for eachother and their circumstances were such that would not allow any kind of meaningful allyship or connection to develop between the "contestants". aiden had the choice to leave anna behind and escape this nightmare once and for all on his one but he refused to and it was his believe and his willingness to convince the plague doctor of that too that she could change that lead to both of them getting out. he ultimately sacrificed himself and his chance of escaping over and over again because he refused to leave anna behind
