amory is kind of a little bitch, but i still liked it

This was a good book that deals primarily with morality through narrative and story. It reminds me of a Dostoevsky book - like Crime and Punishment - but no murder. It still deals with the concepts of morality as they were understood by the mass public of the time, just in different ways - more through politics, relationships, and things of that sort.

Quotes from the book:
All diamonds look big in the rough

The idea that to make a man work you've got to hold gold in front of his eyes is a growth, not an axiom. We've done that for so long that we've forgotten there's any other way.

‘Don’t you believe in moderation?’
You won’t listen to the moderates, and it’s almost too late. The truth is the public has done one of those startling and amazing things that they do about once in a hundred years. They’ve seized an idea.
‘What is it?’
That however the brains and abilities of men may differ, their stomachs are essentially the same.

What little boys they had been, working for blue ribbons.

What ghosts were people with which to work.

‘I know myself’ he cried ‘but that is all’
