The first book in this series was a very nice surprise. I was impressed with the mythology, the characters and the entire setting. But for some reason the second book, and now the third one too, didn't really work for me. I can't really say exactly what it was. I just didn't feel engaged, I couldn't care too much what happened to the characters and the world, I felt kind of detached. A lot of things happened, but the why didn't really seem convincing. In the end there was a slight bit of a message that reached me and brought tears to my eyes, but that was about it.

It's a pity, because the first book had potential, but it seems that the second and third book couldn't really capture me.

I could not put this book down the last few chapters. It has been a while since I reads the first two books but I was able to catch on quick. I enjoyed this book and the way that the character's stories ended. This story was tied in a nice little bow for me and I liked that. There is also room for a continuation of the story if se wanted to revisit it. Furies and Fates and parents and the addition of some great new characters. On to more from Meg.

Very thrilling! Lots of action. There were some corny parts but overall amazing! :)

A horrible conclusion to a terrible series. I can only hope no teens or young adults decide to emulate the behaviors of Pierce (or John, for that matter). Their relationship is very toxic.

Even though the characters seem to think they achieve a happily ever after - the book just left me cringing.

3.5 stars? It was a Meg Cabot book, so there was snappy dialogue, a fun conclusion, and likeable characters. I just think I was soured on the earlier books and couldn't maintain a big eagerness to read this last one. I didn't even feel the need to skim through the first two to recall salient plot points because...I just didn't care. It wasn't a bad book by any means, but it wasn't the best Meg Cabot book I've read; however, it was better than the first one, so that's an improvement.

When I first read Abandon I was hooked, and when the next instalment was released I had to purchase it, although I have literally only just read it. When I got the chance to review Awaken I did not hesitate and quickly requested a copy to read.

When I picked up Awaken it was a sad moment, knowing this is the final book makes it harder for me to read at my usual pace, I want to take my time and make it last that little bit longer. But the moment I began read that all went out the window as I was quickly drawn back into the world or Pierce and John.

Pierce and John are facing more struggles in Awaken they they have faced in the previous instalments, and while I wont go into too much detail about what they face exactly, just know that Awaken kept me far more engrossed than the previous book did. The Furies are taking no prisoners and are intent on doing anything to get rid of John and Pierce which definitely makes Awaken suspenseful, not knowing who will be taken over by the Furies next.

I enjoyed getting to see characters that we know and love have such a huge roll in Awaken, and the new faces we met in Underworld also play a roll along side the old characters. When I was reading Awaken not once did I guess what would happen, and when I got to a big part of the story I was shocked and literally left speechless as to what would happen now, but seeing how a character is strong and has belief that they will fix it somehow made this event so worth while, they needed to see the real person and understand they they CAN do this.

Awaken may be the end of the series, but it definitely goes out with a bang.

Lovely ending, so funny and entertaining! I wasn't very keen on it in the beginning of the book, all characters were annoying the hell out of it, but right now, I just can't "stay mad" at them, I think of them as real people, people whom I'd like to meet in real life.
I bet Kayla, Frank, Hope, Mr.Liu and me would be the greatest of friends ;) - as in, we would annoy everyone around us to death!

Meg Cabot truly is on my TOP 10 favorite authors :)
