Meg Cabot
It was genius of Meg Cabot to write an adult installment of The Princess Diaries. I grew up reading these books as a teen and to have an adult version of that is fantastic! This book had all the charm as the rest in the series, reading like Cabot's other adult novels. The only issue was the cramming of so many story lines into one book. They could have been spread out through at least two books. Otherwise, I hope there's a sequel!
I really like Mia as an adult. It’s been really fun to watch her grow through the series.
lighthearted
Considering the big plot twist of the book, the reaction that it garnered was more tepid than I expected. And all the problems introduced in the story were resolved so quickly that I didn't feel any stakes at all.
At least I'm done with the series.

Predictable and fluffy. I think if I had been more emotionally invested in this series as they were being released, I would have loved this.

this was a 100% satisfying sequel, a very pleasant and fun light read and honestly the best thing i could have read in these anxious times, loved it
This was SO MUCH FUN! It was like getting to go back and visit old friends! I was so happy to get to hang out with Mia, Michael, Lilly, Tina... and I guess Grandmere can be in there too.
The only thing I didn't love was the major plot event. I felt like Mia was too conscientious for that, but I guess things can happen to anyone. Oh well. It will still be exciting.
This also gave Meg Cabot a chance to launch her new middle-grade series with the introduction of Olivia. I didn't really have a problem with that, probably just because Olivia is so darn awesome.
Anyway.... even if there is never another book focusing on Mia, we will still get to hear about what's happening with her through Olivia's eyes.
