I've been a huge fan of The Princess Diaries series (and subsequent movies) since I was in middle school, so I'm glad to finally have read this book! Not sure if it's the last one, but it was quite enjoyable. It was fun to revisit with all of the characters and think back on events that happened earlier in the series. I was also pleasantly shocked several times in this book when events would occur or characters were introduced. A few things occurred which I think I still have some mixed feelings about, but for the most part this gave me a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings and I was glad to get to sit in Mia's head for a bit again.

Meh. It was okay I guess. I feel like the entire Princess Diaries was leading up to this book- to the big wedding- and it was the least important and least exciting part of this book. Which made me sad because it deemphasized the importance of marriage- especially with the pregnancy. And twins, really? The sister part had no bearing on the actual story. It was not Cabot's best, that's for sure!

It was great to relive my childhood with this book. I loved the series as I was growing up and it was nice to reminisce. And I still love it today

Hastily concluded and lots of different things a going but a mature Mia was nice to see

To conclude, I have not grown out my teen crush for Michael Moscovitz.

The diary layout is something that I could appreciate. Instead of chapters we have diary entries. The candid voice lead something to the main character and made it easier to connect to her. What this diary layout failed to do was lend details to really make the book come to life. There is a fine line to walk in keeping with realistic diary entries and still adding the details so that one can visualize the story and really become immersed. One example is the wedding dress. There is a surprising lack of details in what the gowns look like. We do however get a drawn picture of the wedding invitation. With this lack of detail the story just falls flat.

The story altogether seemed rushed. It all just felt like a half-baked, rushed attempt to monopolize on the series.

The final aspect I noticed, and actually really appreciated, was how she tied in this book with one of her other series. Quite seamlessly and with a series that I recently finished and enjoyed for the most part. Seeing little details like that help to make the worlds seem a little more real.

A cute little throwback to some of my favourite teen books!

Honestly as someone who loved the princess diaries going up, I enjoyed this book! It started slow but then the twists and turns really were so fun! It didn’t feel predictable somehow even though it probably was, and it would’ve been fair enough. If you liked the original princess diaries this is good vibes.
