“Sometimes I color outside the lines, though.”
“Keep doing it, kid,” Lilly advised. “You’ll go places.”

I was so excited to find out that Meg Cabot was releasing another part in The Princess Diaries series. Just as Harry Potter was my childhood, Princess Diaries was my initiation into Young Adult fiction and was very important in the journey of growing up. Reading Royal Wedding was not only fun, but also very interesting because you see that switch between a teenage Mia and an adult Mia and though there are qualities that are identical, you can see the leap in certain aspects and thought process and that’s something I relate to at the moment. It was a lovely way to revisit my ideas as a teen and to see how I’ve progressed and grown, just as Mia has.

Can we take a moment to talk about Michael Moscovitz? I’m not one to go crazy enough to write an entire paragraph about a guy but Michael is just too beautiful to be ignored. As a human being, as a lover and as a friend, also the fact that he was possibly one of my first fictional loves. But yes, he almost seems too good to be true and the fact that Mia and Michael have such a great relationship with understanding at an alternate almost impossible to achieve level made me want to awwwww many times.

I’m also really thrilled to know more about Olivia through the Middle Age Princess Diaries, so I’m hoping to read that soon.

"Despite all evidence to the contrary, Grandmère believes that Ron Weasley, not Voldemort, is the villain of the Harry Potter series."

I didn’t for a second feel too old for any of it, if anything, I felt like I was catching up with the life of a long lost friend - so that was super fun.

I’m not giving it a complete 5 because I did expect a little more and felt it was a bit draggy in the beginning and very fast paced in the end and I wish it had been a little more stable in terms of pace, but I’d most definitely recommend it to Princess Diaries lovers because you’d definitely want to know what Mia’s been upto. And I must confess that I had missed the crazy hyperventilating diary entires and it was lovely to have them back.

I absolutely loved The Princess Diaries series in my teenage years. I'd get a book and devour it, so of course I was ecstatic when I heard of a new book in the series, this time aimed at adults. This book is fun, quirky and typical Mia! You can't help but laugh as Cabot's writing style is great. You also can't help but root for Mia and all her family and friends! This is by no means 'fine' reading, but it is fun, light and made for easy reading which I quite enjoy every once in awhile. I'd love to see more books in this series to continue the story. I'm not sure that will happen, but if so, I'll definitely be reading!

i bought the ebook as soon as i found out this existed, read it amidst finals week, and oh my god my childhood. thank you, meg, for this lovely gift. long live the princess

guilty, but not pleasure.

This made me realize I've grown out of the Princess Diaries series. I remember I used to love them but this one was just ok. It was just too predictable.

She is so self actualized

Either these books are getting sillier or I'm getting older - or maybe both - but darned if they aren't just as impossible to put down as ever.

There is something about Meg Cabot's characters that makes her books completely worthwhile, even when they are over-the-top.

Such a fun, fun read.

I have missed the Princess Diaries books SO BADLY! It was a treat to get a peak back into Mia (and Michael's) life. The timing of me reading this book was lovely since I'm planning a wedding too...and yes, I added Mia and Michael's reception playlist to our reception playlist.
