Because this has the same exact appeal as to what made Naruto popular, this series will likely pick up in popularity with the same audience. Since I did not finish the original Naruto series, it was interesting to see what many of the old characters look like as adults. Boruto as a character is very similar to Naruto, minus the difference of having a family and security - but the same loud, expressive personality that you either like or hate.
The minor chapter on Mitsuki in volume 1 presents Orochimaru still alive and kicking... but doing what, who knows. Mitsuki appears to be vastly different from his comrades, but his history is still largely unknown. Sarada, the third teammate and daughter of Sasuke, appears as an attempt of mixing Sakura and Sasuke's personality - but she seems more level-headed and confident that any other character. She is my best bet of the character fans will take a liking to, unlike her mother Sakura in the original series who was largely disliked for her selfishness.
Lastly, the Boruto series introduced the vast usage of technology in all forms. It is a little jarring, but if we assume that twenty-ish years have passed since the beginning of Naruto, it is not particularly unlikely to have all the access. The ninja tools are a bit strange and the mentions of "doping" creates an unusual look of "modern" ninjas that has not really been produced before.
That said, I will not be continuing this series now that I got a look at it. It will definitely appeal to younger kids who enjoy action sequences, especially with relatable young teenagers. As most shounen series, the romance is minimal (if any at all), but assumptions can probably start being made this point.

I liked this better than volume 1, because Boruto is starting to get his head out of his rear a bit. Still enjoying seeing all the characters I know and love and wondering where some of the rest of them are.

Things gets better now. It starts getting interesting as well and I kind of relate to Boruto. I feel this manga will be dope in the future (please don’t disappoint me
