This book has a great writing style! The descriptions of food and the city were so detailed, I felt like I was really there and really experiencing what Margot was experiencing. I also really liked the secondary characters like Luz and Margot's dads. I thought the story was fascinating as well. It was fun to read more about the NYC restaurant scene.

Much like with the author's first book, I really had a hard time with the first-person POV and the main character. Margot, despite being an adult (which she constantly reminds us of), is very naive and very idealistic. I think this was supposed to be part of her characterization, but it just made her very insufferable to read about.
I also didn't like how much focus there was on Zach throughout the book. I think it would have been better if the big event at the wedding happened earlier so we could have had more development with Ben. I think the big ending was very rushed, and I felt like I was left hanging with certain characters.
Overall this was a fun, breezy read with awesome descriptions of food. If you're in the mood for a light YA romance, this is a perfect read, it just lacks some depth!

Just not in the mood for young people in this book. Buy I loved the nyc of it all
4โญ๏ธ Oh my gosh this book was so cute! I loved all the New York references. Also this book made me so hungry with all the talk about food and cooking. I literally canโt explain how happy this book made me, but there were a few things I was mad at. Overall, this was a fun, cute, and fast paced YA book that I would definitely recommend! I was so happy and giggling at the end of this book!

Thank you to @netgalley & the publisher for providing me with an advanced e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book was very cute, Iโll give it that. As someone who also happens to hail from New York, I thought this was a sweet little love letter of sorts to the city, and I thoroughly enjoyed how heavily the vibrant food & restaurant scene in NY was featured here as is if it were its own character.
That said, I think Iโm just a bit too old now to fully enjoy stories like these sometimes? Lol yikes, idk. Margot was justโฆ. fine as a MC I suppose, and while I can understand how someone at her age would think & act the way that she does throughout the novelโฆ.. she definitely still got on my nerves sometimes (oops lol). I wonโt pick her apart too hard though, because we do get some decent character development by the end as she learns a lesson or twoโฆ. or five lol. Alsoโ the romance aspect of this story was fairly predictable, which is why I donโt really have much to say on it either.
FKiNY was a quick, lighthearted read, and though I wish the overall execution of the story was a bit better, I still had a fun time.
PS. This book is marketed for โfans of the Netflix show

This book was super cute! I loved seeing their friendship develop and seeing them help each other with their dreams. I wish that there was an epilogue where we actually get to see them together.
I received an arc through netgalley.
