Oh yeah baby, it's on like Donkey Kong... Yes, I just said that. Sorry, I've been playing Nintendo all afternoon, it seeps into my skin. But the book, I should probably talk about the book now.

Loved it. Love love loved it. I realized something while I was reading this... I'm not usually a huge Urban Fantasy fan, I'm more of an Epic Fantasy gal. But this series? I love it. And I think the reason is that while the story line is definitely Urban.. It's pretty damn Epic at the same time. It's Epic Urban Fantasy. Holy wow. I just invented a new genre! Or rather, Mr. Correia did. Actually he probably didn't, I'm sure the term has been thrown around before. But it's new to me, so damn it, I'm allowed to be excited!

Seriously though. It's Urban action, on an Epic scale, and it rocks. This book doesn't suffer at all from the second-in-a-series-curse, it's just as good as the first, maybe even better in some ways. You get to learn more about the characters, some of their mysterious histories are revealed, it's pretty awesome non-stop action.. And it's fucking funny. I'm allowed to say "fucking" in this review because "fuck" was used often and well in the book... Just saying. Wait... What was I saying? I got distracted. Oh yeah, it's fucking funny.

Honestly.. I don't have any complaints. Five stars all the way. I can't wait to start [b:Monster Hunter Alpha|9785225|Monster Hunter Alpha (Monster Hunter International, #3)|Larry Correia|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1327878274s/9785225.jpg|14675078]!

This had plenty of new threats and new twists to keep things interesting. It's a nice mix of intense action and the characters trying to figure things out.

As with the first book, Monster Hunter Internation, the narration by Oliver Wyman is the best part of Monster Hunter Vendetta. Wyman does an excellent job with changes in gender and accents. I would give his performance 5 stars. The story did not really draw me in. As with the first book, Earl is my favorite character. Really never felt invested in any of the other characters. Monster Hunter Vendetta is a continuation of the storyline from Monster Hunter International. New characters and new species are introduced. The story though is very similar to the first book. Only the villains have changed.

Once again Larry Correia provides us with some great summer reading fare. It has a lot of action and like the first one it has more guns and monsters than you know what to do with. The book is a lighthearted fun romp into the world of violence and mayhem.

I enjoyed this book. It took a bit to get through it, for me. Partially because the author tends to describe some of the more gruesome scenes in loving detail, and I would have to take periodic breaks from reading all of that! If you enjoy fantasy & action, and don't mind gore, I would definitely recommend this series to you.

Sequel to Monster Hunter International, and another entertaining urban fantasy novel. Owen Pitt is back, and while his love life is going great, the rest of the world is falling apart. Good thing he's the Chosen One.
