I haven't been this disappointed in a book since Paolini final book. Like oh my god. I hated this. Which is a pity, because I adored the last two.
Blackwood was...horrible? Not anything like I remember. And the way he died? Bullshit. That she ended up with Magnus? Bigger bullshit.
Honestly, I had to skim this entire book after the first 45 pages. What was the point of killing off so many characters? There was no rhyme or reason to it.
Usually, I'd get rid of the entire trilogy after such a disappointing end. But I liked the first two. As much as I loved them, I hate this one.

I am so happy with this ending! It is a little bittersweet with the loss of a few characters I loved. But overall I couldn't have hoped for a better ending.
I really need books to have TW for pregnancies.
Especially the 17-year old main character getting pregnant

This trilogy was unique in a lot of ways. The twists were interesting and the fact that not everyone got exactly what they wanted was refreshing.
Henrietta has been a great character from the beginning. I liked that she is not without faults and she does make mistakes.
I think people who enjoy series filled with magic and the threat of great evil would enjoy this series.

I was all about this book and series until the end. I found it an unnecessary surprise. I understand it doesn't always end how the reader wants it to, but I just can't really get behind it. It's still worth reading! The epilllogue did save it some but I would have liked that ending in the main book and minus the surprise.
3.5 stars. I feel like the first half was unnecessary and repetitive. I feel like the author wanted to show us what a relationship with Henrietta and Blackwood would be like but he was not the same guy from the first book. It was such a bad relationship and it turned Henrietta into a different person. It took forever to actually get to the action and the ending which I surprisingly liked.

A delight. I devoured it. Cluess knows how to make all the best bad things happen!
Nom nom nom. All the bad terrible things! All the drama! And I was especially pleased with the nuance of characterization.
This deserves to be made into a movie series, if nothing else because the novels provide a cast of hawt male leads vast enough to exhaust Hollywood's supply of Chrises.
