This was a great short read and not entirely what I was expecting but a great way to kick off pride month for me 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I really enjoyed this, though it made me realize just how little I remember of the original Peter Pan! This inspired me to go back and read it so I can fully appreciate what Chant has done here. I loved the character growth for both Peter and Hook and the slow drip of reveals. This is a fever dream of a story that explores gender dysphoria, transphobia, identity and belonging, growing up, grief, and adulthood.

This book was such a good retelling of Peter Pan, I loved the changes the author made and it added so many layers to the story. The incorporation of queer and trans characters fits so perfectly into the idea of Peter Pan and Neverland. I was obsessed with this book and was itching to read it all the time.

This book does handle heavy topics, such as transphobia and homophobia, but it is a beautiful book about queer and trans love and belonging. Also, such a good enemies to lovers storyline.

My only complaint is that I felt the ending was a bit rushed and I would have loved a bit more of that.

I loved the slow burn and the character development, but I didn’t find the first quarter really worked for me.

But I loved the flashbacks and everything else, even the sad parts.

Cute, shockingly tense retelling of Peter Pan. Peter was relatable as a transmasc character and the ending made me feel good. Very fantastical with a fun twist but can also do serious moments well.

I cannot begin to state how much of an effect this book has had on me. I loved it so very much. It took me on an emotional ride and I could just feel everything. I was crying both from sadness and happiness.

Chant does an amazing job of making transgender issues a huge part of the book, while making it feel perfectly part of the whole story. And the ending? I loved the ending so much. I have questions, I need a sequel...

I realise this is not a helpful review, but if you enjoy the story of Peter Pan, enjoy a fairytale retelling and are interested in transgender issues, read this book. You won't regret it.

I read this as a buffer book between much more intense books and I’m so glad I did. It started a little rough. It’s not written in a style I love, but it wasn’t enough to put me off. And I’m glad I pushed through. It’s a very emotional story about a transman and a gay man coming into themselves and learning how to be their true selves. I very much enjoyed it. Definitely worth the read
