3.5 stars - The Triskele plot line and witches in 1594 was very interesting but also quite sad. I think this one will stay with me for a while even though I am not sure how to feel. The writing was really good, but I still have questions…

Although this was a very good book, it didn't quite live up to the promise of its premise. It began well, with each of its dual timelines being equally fascinating. The 1594 timeline remained compelling throughout. The 2024 timeline started out rather deliciously terrifying but some of the explanations that were eventually revealed seemed a little ridiculous and the last third of the modern-day timeline seemed rushed. (Yes, I know the whole point was that time was of the essence, but the pacing just seemed off to me.) Still, it was definitely worth reading and I would recommend it to anyone interested in witchcraft trials and dark supernatural thrillers.
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 Stars Overall.
The book draws you, it’s interesting in the fact that it’s a triller with fantastical elements. I feel like I’ve read this story before, though, both with Weyward (which I really liked) and She’s Not Here (which I didn’t like). The plot twist of the two timelines actually happening at the same time while being 400 years apart was really cool, but I felt there were a lot of moments where the book dragged, and then all of a sudden the ending felt rushed. Was good not great.

a decent read with some interesting ties to history, but as someone who was hoping to get spooked, i can say this book missed the mark there. i was mostly drawn to the parts centering on the 1500s witch trial (as any sane person would be), but the modern day story and the ending felt less cohesive, especially towards the end.
