Very much a mixed bag. I found some sections were very intriguing with lots of insights and creative bridges. Other parts could have been pruned pretty extensively.  I do appreciate the authors avoidance of simplistic good/bad dichotomies, and his overall optimistic perspective. That sort of thing is needed now more than ever.

I loved this and need to read in book format. I know I missed half of it and the half I got was awesome.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It was eye opening to read and experience this book. It gave me hope for a future on this planet. And a guidance on how we might achieve it with our own two hands.

This is one of the most interesting, stimulating, entertaining, cross-discipline books I've read. Going through biology, philosophy, computer science, maths, anthropology, linguistics..., tying them together with lots of different case studies and anecdotes that make this a diverse and fascinating read. It's probably not a super easy read if you're not familiar with some concepts, but things are discussed at a superficial enough level that it can be read by people of any background. I really loved the way this book makes you discover and consider things in a different way, even if you wouldn't agree with all the conclusions, as well as the positive spin avoiding final doomerisim on technology and the state of the world.

Fascinating but dense. I only got about half way through, but hope to come back to this one.
