I meannnn it was pretty much all smut so I don't know how to really rate or review this.
It was pretty much the same as what I read in the books prior, which isn't bad but it wasn't that enthralling. I prefer plot, character development, and romance in books...this had none of that because the characters were all too 'busy' to do much else.
I like smut but I don't want to listen to 1.5 hours of JUST that. Kind of boring but I'm sure a lot of ya nasty people would enjoy it haha.

No plot whatsoever. Hot scenes, but no plot. I know this is an in-between book, but I am at least interested in reading her other books.

As I stated in my revised review of Conviction recently, I’m revisiting the books in the Club Destiny series that deal with Logan and Sam as main characters. There is a new book coming out soon featuring them and I need a refresher. I have a whole lot to unpack with this one and my original review.
First, here is that review I wrote in 2016 after reading this story for the first time. My new thoughts and opinions are after the old review. I really changed my mind on this one a lot so I encourage you to read all the way through.
It is really, really, really not necessary to read this book to understand the series. For me, there was something missing and it made this short novella somewhat boring. That seems weird to say since, honestly, the whole book is one sex scene after another. But the connection between the characters was missing for me. I almost felt bad for Logan as it seemed he is not enough for his wife. It's one thing to enjoy and partake in having a third in the bedroom or other kinky stuff. But when it gets to the point that your partner feels your disappointment that those things are, at the time, missing...well that may be too much. I really felt that Logan and Sam had wonderful chemistry and a true love for each other when I read their story, the first book in the series. This one made me feel that Sam didn't care about Logan as much as she cared about what sexual heights Logan can procure for her.
The only reason to read this novella is to see how Tag came to factor into the group. It's not a deep or mysterious route so you're not missing anything by skipping to book three.
Now, my 2022 thoughts.
Wow! I don’t know what head space I was in the last time I read this story, but I was being harsh. Especially toward Sam. The only thing I found to be true about my original review was I didn’t feel as much of a connection between Sam and Logan this time. It was definitely there, though. Just not as strong as in Conviction. I never felt sorry for Logan during this read of the book. He seemed to want to engage in their “kinky” lifestyle just as much as Sam. I’m not sure why I felt otherwise before.
Part of me think there may have been something that happened in the second book of the series, Temptation, that I don’t remember. It’s not Sam’s story, but it deals with Luke and Cole, who were the original third and fourth in Sam and Logan’s playtime. Did she act jealous in that book and it soured me on her? I don’t think so but unfortunately, I don’t have time to do a re-read of that story right now.
All I can say is I enjoyed this short and sexy story this time around. I’m sure it has to do with me having much more exposure to erotic romance over the years and learning to expand my views. My original rating was 2 stars! I’m doubling that this time around.
