It was very repetitive. Maybe I'm just not the biggest fan of true crime, because the few I've read so far were lacking.
Gripping tale
The book was a fast moving but gripping story of murder. From the beginning you could tell who was guilty but that didn't take away from the story at all. Would definitely recommend.

Investigative journalism at its best, this book not only tells a haunting tale of the attempt to hide the murder of an innocent man but gives a fascinating insight into both the police Sweden and rural village life in the area the crime occurred.
At no time does the book sensationalise the killing or try to turn the guilty into “rockstars” as so much true crime does. Instead we are given all the information in clear, calm and measured way, even in the sections where the author is fictionalising episodes based on the testimony of the key players.
A shout out must go to Agnes Broomé, the translator, as I hadn’t realised the book hadn’t originally be written in English until I found her credited on the last page.

Interesting, odd true crime story
Not really a lot of twists and turns, but a rather straightforward telling of a true crime. Killing someone for greed and childish, almost infantile dreams. Wasting money and learning nothing, with sometimes little contact with what is really going on.

For whatever reason, this didn't hold my attention. I never latched on to any of the characters or felt an emotional attachment that made me want this investigation to turn out one way or the other. The background, and the way in which the author presented the information made it so that I couldn't suspend my disbelief about this being a solved case that I could just look up in the news. The way in which the author was intentionally providing breadcrumbs while concealing other facts was noticeable to me, and I ended up just wanting to finish this book quickly so I could read something else.
a very dry...sort of whodunit even tho we KNOW whodunit...maybe an insight into "whydunnit" ....sorry didn't really happen. Unless you are a hardcore true crime unkie I would not recommend.
