liked this one way better than the first because im a big jacob apologist and enjoyer, though the ending with her talking back at charlie made me so angry like homegirl he literally is right in being mad at edward šŸ’€ anyway. enjoying these way more than i ever thought i would ngl

Love it, love it! I expected it to be a little boring waiting for Edward to rejoin the story, but it was really great! I loved the friendship dynamic with Bella and Jacob, it's more detailed than it is in the film

It is the worst twilight book. Feels long, starts slow pae quickens at the end. Toxic relationships to the nth degree but we knew that already.

I donā€™t think Twilight is a masterpiece either, but I found New Moon truly terrible for a few reasons ā€” the main one being the toxicity.

New Moon doesnā€™t have what makes Twilight a fun read: an atmosphere. Whereas lush forest descriptions make Twilight ā€œa vibe,ā€ New Moon has none of it. It mainly raises a lot of mental health issues, without addressing them properly at all. It is emotional not because it deals with these issues properly, but because your heart constantly breaks for Bella.

But also you canā€™t help but be mad at her at times because sheā€™s an adult in this book, and almost never acts like one. Itā€™s also creepy that she as an adult allows Jacob as a minor to act on his crush on her. Which is ā€˜funny,ā€™ considering Edward does pretty much the same to Bella.

And thereā€™s the main problem: just how toxic the Cullens are. I cannot deal with the emotional manipulation.

I also hate how the Quileute boys are literally made into wild beasts incapable of controlling their rage, to the point they physically hurt their significant others. Funny, because thatā€™s also Edward.

This is probably my least favorite book from the twilight saga. Iā€™m also not the biggest fan of Bella. It was hard reading the scenes she had with Jacob knowing that sheā€™s leading him on.
