New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

This was a painful experience. New moon was simply boring, a huge book (over 500 pages) with no plot besides Bella being annoying with zero self-respect. I may be a bit biased, because I can’t stand either Jacob or Bella and they were the main caracthers on this one, but the story just got repetitive: the same red flags, home invasion and Bella crying. It seems like the only way Stephanie Meyer could describe Bella’s depression was trough the analogy of a hole deep in her chest, but, even though it can be true, there’s other ways to explore the subject and deepen it without repeating the same expression every two pages. Like I said before the only thing keeping this saga interesting is the vampires and the secondary caracthers and since we got nearly none of those, the book got incredibly slow (it even got me on a reading slump). These two stars are incredibly generous.

My sister is a big Twilight fan and she said I had to read the books. Yeah right!!! To be honest, I enjoyed reading all four books in the Twilight series. Even it is about vampires, and I can't identify with being one, I could identify with the characters and their feelings. I could feel the emotions and the struggle they went trough. Have to say, my sister was right! It was a nice enjoyable easy read.
Now it's waiting for the final movie.

Nothing was pissing me off more than how dense Bella was about the werewolf thing

It was a really fun read that I started on my way to a hiking spot soooooo similar to La Push and the mountains. I could imagine jump in the water or run with the wolfs in the forest. It was magical.

Second half of the book I finished during my 24h reading challenge and I appreciate bonus content that made me giggle.

I know these books are cringe and written by a Mormon woman who thinks cola is already too much due to caffeine 😂

But it’s such a comfort to be in that world. Even though it’s cringe

Where do I start... I guess it would be that it took me over 7 months to finish this one. It was one of those books that I started reading, then put it down and didn't pick up till sometime late 2007, early 2008. But I flew through it like a race horse. Reasons being was that I could at that point in my life put myself in Bella's shoes, having to deal with my own horrible heart break that resembled her's as well. He may have not been a vampire, but none the less it was a pretty big deal.

I think being able to connect to her more in this book, than in 'Twilight' was crucial. The 1st book in a series always is a make or break, but the sophomore year (ie - the 2nd book) can lift the book higher into the stratosphere or send it into a black hole of shame. New Moon didn't, but it didn't do the same as the first book either. This can happen, but I think it had to do more so with how well a reader could relate to the story and the characters.

Overall, it was a great read. I wouldn't call it my favorite, but I wouldn't shove it away in a box just yet. It does look pretty on my book shelf :)

The first book was escapist fun. The second book was a plodding bore. If there's anyone who didn't skim to the part where Edward comes back I commend you. Nothing of value, here. Nothing at all.

I would give it a 3.5! Bella is annoying and anyone who says they are team Jacob is lying or hasn’t read the book
