I love a good murder story. This debut novel from Tom Threadgill is smart, witty, and will have you possibly yelling by the end.
The beginning felt a little rough, but once the story began to unfold I was really impressed by the character development and how everything tied together. Tom ties up just enough loose ends to leave you hanging at the end, and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Not the best book I’ve read in this genre. Predictable and a bit boring.

This is the third book I have read by this author, having read and reviewed his two more recent books that he did for Revell. This book was totally different. It was very intense and suspenseful, and the author was more descriptive with the actions of the killer than in most Christian fiction books I read.....but I loved the book. Jeremy is a great main character/hero of the book, and the suspense and drama made this a real page turner. I am already planning on reading the other two books in the series.
But be forewarned...if you like cozy mysteries, this book is not for you :)

I would have gone higher on the rating, but the crimes were very very dark. And I’m not a fan of heavy-handed foreshadowing.
That said, I accidentally read #2 before this one, and I really like the series so far.
Good character growth without it turning into a semi-romance book.

What a fantastic work in character building throughout the story! The characters were complex, likeable enough, and were quite shocking. The pictures Threadgill paints are absolutely disturbing, and the reactions from his primary and secondary characters are highly realistic.
