February was a month with a shortage of good reads. Fortunately, I stumbled across this lighthearted NA romance. Finally, a read that I enjoyed!

Blurred Lines is a very good book. A book with the friends-to-lovers/friends-with-benefits trope. A trope that is sometimes hit or miss for me.

Parker and Ben have had a strong friendship for 6 years. They became friends in their freshman year of college and now are roommates. Although no one believes that there is only friendship between them. Both show that women and men can be friends.

Parker has a boyfriend, and Ben prefers to enjoy his single life. However, the relationship between Parker and Ben begins to change after Parker's boyfriend leaves her. Ben begins to see her in a different light but decides to help her get back on dates.

The transition from platonic friends to friends with benefits is not rushed. The author takes her time to show how important friendship is for both characters and that neither wants to do anything to ruin that friendship.

There are some things I didn't like. Parker slut-shaming the girls who slept with Ben. She thinks she's a better person for not having one-night stands.

Also, Parker is not honest with her best friend, Lori. Lori is in love with Ben, and she has wanted to be with him for a long time knowing this, Parker decides to hook up with Ben and not say anything to her friend.

The plot is quite simple and direct. But it's fun and cute. It has the necessary elements for a romantic comedy with a touch of angst. Parker and Ben are adorable. I really enjoyed their chemistry and banter.

I found the subplot about his mother unnecessary. I understand that the author needed to bring the characters back together so they could talk. But I think the friendship between Parker and Ben is so strong that they would naturally have worked things out.
