Once you look past the weird pick-me MC and straight people "men and women can't be friends" nonsense, this was a nice listen. The man was super gross and toxic with the whole "I protect this woman from other gross men" thing. and the reason for the breakup in the third act climax was so silly to me. but I listened to it in one day while doing the laundry and it definitely kept me entertained

YES FINALLY, I got out of the spell of bad new adult books. I loved this book so much its not even funny. It's a pretty cliché story but I love them so no shame.
So it's basically about two best friends who consider themselves to be an exception to the belief that a guy and girl can't be just friends. And for six years, they have been one. Until they decide to add a few benefits to their friendship (after a lot of heartbreak and deliberation). And the drama ensues. And it was awesome.
You instantly fall in love with both the main characters, which is always the best way to start out a book. It's a relatively shorter book, so I was done in one sitting. The fact that the protagonists are best friends makes everything 8329 times cuter <3
Blurred lines is just a funny, heart-warming book and it made me feel so much better about life, so if you're looking for that you should pick it up.

¡¡Qué monada!! Jo, lo he disfrutado mucho.

Ok so... I’m still unsure about this. I’m a helpless romantic so I’m always down to read novelas, and friends to lovers is one of my favorite troupe. Still, there were a bunch of things that made me... cringe. But I still enjoyed it.

3/5 stars.

YUH a new romance author to binge. this was a fast read, with great writing. the characters had 10/10 banter, and there was a great bff-to-lovers trope. classic 2010 romance, i am 100% here for it.

I liked that the female MC was slightly neurotic but the male MC only lightly teased her about it and didn’t stress her out about it more or was reactive to it. I loved seeing the female MCs with solid friendships (she had a work friend and another friend).

Layne was great at setting up 'real-life' vibes. I loved his relationship with her family. The long-term ex just kinda fading experience was very relatable. The main characters' insecurities were clearly visible and seemed in line with their personalities and history. It was a nice reversal for the girl to be the one freaking out about ground rules broken and the guy freaking out about not feeling good enough.

The karaoke epilogue made me feel warm and cozy. They still felt like best friends at the conclusion; they're still supporting each other to go further but to also relax.

Their relationship felt very organic and real. Solid IRL setup - they had house rules/did laundry/etc. The whole FWB setup didn't seem like a contrived plot when the characters clearly tried to lay down ground rules and have never had romantic feelings for each other in the past. However, the chemistry was never really there throughout the book. Tapping out from author.
