I can't presume to be able say anything about this book that hasn't already been said, but I will say this: I am immensely glad that I finally got around to reading it. It made history for a reason.

He's such a freak but I had so much fun with him. I do think the end is a little light all things considered. I don't think he learned a single thing, but oh welllll, if he strikes again no one be surprised okay.

no one told me this was a comedy

Need to sit with this a while longer.

In a few words - incredible, seminal, intricate. One of the greatest of all time.

But also - Dostoevsky was king of writing yappers, and I’m tired.

Read the Garnett translation, but have heard good things about Ready’s version as well. In general, I’m not the biggest fan of P&V. Will probably read a different translation in the future…
