4.5 stars really. This was one that I really ended up liking a lot! It honestly felt really realistic in how the characters behaved for the most part. It had a lot of humorous bits, and pop culture references, which I really enjoy. For example, it even mentioned Goodreads! I picked it up, and couldn't seem to put it down, it kept me turning pages (digital pages on my Nook, so a lot of tapping on the side of the screen). I like the way the "new/rebound" romance actually ended up going, it seemed perfect for how I was rooting for the story to go. I definitely wanted to smack Sari a lot, I mean she wasn't giving Zev ANY chance at all for the longest time. And then, the next thing that set her off, well, I feel like she totally overreacted once again. But when she did break down, that was so real to me, I can remember times I've felt the same way. And I loved the guy from NYU, Fitz, he was funny and pretty much a good guy. I definitely look forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

Full disclosure, I actually listened to this one in audiobook format... and I loved it! How cool is it that Shani narrates this herself?! I actually laughed out loud many times on my commute listening to this one. It's a perfect, cute, angst-filled tale about the power of love, music, and rain storms.

Sari frustrated me a little bit but I like how she's more on the rational side.

I always enjoy a Shani Petroff read. She’s got a funny and relatable voice and she gets right into the story, thus smaller books. I love the size of her books (I say this all the time but it’s so true) they’re perfect for a quick palette cleanser after you come off of a series or if you have a quick trip and need to entertain yourself they’re the perfect length.

Initially, I was 100% on Sari’s side in this Zev drama. All the information looked suspect, but you later realize that maybe she’s being a little harsh. But that’s what makes it real and relatable. When you’re 18 and you see what you see you’re going to react with your heart and your gut you’re not going to ask reasonable and logical questions. And that ex-girlfriend needs to CHECK HERSELF! Sari is also SO STUBBORN it makes me laugh because I see myself doing those same things out of hurt feelings and general bullheadedness.

I wish there had been more character development for Fitz and Dylan. They seemed like really good guys. Maybe they could get their own book. The entire book I was like, okay...but how is Sari going to end up with Fitz? Because that’s how your YA brain is trained to go. This has to lead to something, right? WRONG! Which is probably a good thing since Fitz was lacking character development. I can appreciate a nice guy just being a nice guy. How rare is that motive?!

What I loved the most was the BEAUTIFUL supportive female friendship between Trina and Sari. So wonderful! So beautiful! I wish we got more Trina in this book. She she get her own book, too.

Overall, I gave it a 4/5 because it delivered on an entertaining story with characters you cared about (so much so that I want them to have their own books) and that’s all you can really ask for in a YA novel. I can’t wait for the next Shani P masterpiece.

A very quick and entertaining read. I liked that the main character wasn't a scared nerdy girl like they usually are in YA. I also liked that the love interest was nerdy but considered really cool. It was fast paced and I really liked that our main character was persistent and that the story talked about chasing your dreams no matter what. At first I thought it was going to talk about cheating in a romantic way and I'm not here for that. But luckily it wasn't the case with this one. A great read for teenagers.
