I love these historical fantasy mysteries from CJ Archer. There’s a slow burn romance as a side plot with a colorful cast of characters. Great when you want a quick read with some magic and adventure. You do need to read them in order to fully understand the plot as each novel builds from the previous one.

I am enjoying this series and can't wait to read the next one.

After all I said in my review of the first book, I’ve succumbed to temptation and read this one too and, of course, it didn’t disappoint.
Upon finding an old manuscript and trying to figure out the contents to classify it for the library and possibly finding a connection to her ancestors, Sylvia will once again tangle herself in the middle of an adventure with Gabe and their friends when the book is stolen.
Whether I like it or not, I’m hopelessly attracted to these stories and the smart weaving of history and fiction by Ms. Archer. The Medici Manuscript is the kind of book that takes the reader to another time and mixes the right amount of fantasy, history and hints of romance all in the fashionable world of early 20th century London making it a slightly modern period piece.
I very much enjoyed this second installment and it seems that I’ve signed myself up for the full ride.
