A superb piece of festive fiction! Great characters, wonderful setting, interesting plot and a lovely romance. I'm a sucker for a book set in a bookshop and this is that with bells on. Set in beautiful Edinburgh during the festive season this is the perfect for story for getting into the Christmas vibe and escaping the madness of the world. A stand out gem in the sea of festive novels.

Cute and fun

This was a very enjoyable read - I don’t usually read chick lit, but this was light & entertaining.

I picked this book up as a quick read to match a challenge prompt. I've never read anything by this author before, and Christmas being my least favorite holiday, I was skeptical. But also desperate to just pick something! lol I'm glad I did. Yes it takes place around Christmas, but it isn't the main focus, so it didn't bother me. It's definitely a "cozy romance" story, but there's several other mini plots happening, and I loved that. I initially didn't like the female MC. She was whiney, selfish, self-absorbed, and immature. But she had a lot of growth through the book, so I ended up really loving her. There's a couple of characters in the book that are really pieces of poop, so that makes it easier to start liking the MC. I think the author did a great job tying up some of the mini plots, and of course, it has your typical sappy romance HEA. Is the book life changing? No, but it is heartwarming and a sweet romance with a little bit of humor tossed in here & there. Really enjoyed it!

This book was meh for me. I read it in the beginning but then had to listen to it on super speed audio because book club crept up on me. I think the narration made the characters sound kind of pompous. I loved the kids, and their dialogue so that was a saving factor. It was a little slow for me but cozy and Christmasy themed. Definitely a book version of a hallmark movie.

Looked cute for Christmas. The main character grew on me and had good development. The love interests just weren't there for me. They didn't feel right. Heartwarming family times and finding one's passion. Overall worth the read, but not a new favorite.
