The story was cute and I liked the overall plot. But the writing and flow of the story was not there for me. It felt dis-jointed alot of the time and the transition from scene to scene was rough. Maybe just a writing style I dont enjoy. But I felt it could have used some polishing to pull the story together better so it was more fluid and smooth.

After losing her job shortly before Christmas, Carmen moves in with her sister in Edinburgh and begins working in a small local bookshop to try to save it from going out of business. This book was really fun and magical. It wasn't a perfect book, but I actually enjoyed it more than I expected. I really liked that the book focused mainly on Carmen's relationship with her sister and her neices and nephew. Plus, it was really cool to read a book about Edinburgh at Christmas while living in Edinburgh at Christmas. It was a pretty magical experience.

Another amazing novel from Jenny Colgan–who is quickly becoming one of my favorites! She writes charming characters with depth and heart.

Two sisters who seemingly can’t stand each other are forced to live together… What will come of it? Well, as with any Jenny Colgan story, the ending doesn’t disappoint! And the journey along the way provides sweet, endearing moments.

This also serves as a perfect holiday story with the elements of Christmas miracles that, this time of year, I can’t get enough of!
