Cozy read for the holidays, but… didn’t like half of the characters and it had a bit of a weird ending 🙈

This was a 3.5, but I rounded it up because it was a book I kept coming back to without filling dread. However, most of these main characters, especially Carmen, were super annoying at times. I couldn't keep count of how many times I rolled my eyes.

Honestly I dont know why I keep giving this author a chance. I always love the mainline plot around the bookstore, i get to live out my hallmark escapist fantasy of changing my whole life and being surrounded by books ya know? It's so nice!

BUT the men always suck. There are usually two love interests and they are both obnoxious and/or boring. And I love romance! I love tropes! Ugh.

A solid 3.5 - perfect for wanting an easy read this week. It got a .5 boost for the witchy ending.

Merry Christmas!!! A very cute read, light and fast too!

Hear me out... initially I was captivated by this book with it being set in Edinburgh and we had just vacationed there, so the description of the areas I already knew. The story had me at the beginning, but then it became a drag. It just kept going on and on. I hated Blair, he was a turd. Oke was weird. The relationships just didn't feel real. Then it seemed like Carmen's sister basically was using her as a free babysitter and it didn't seem like a sister type relationship. This book could have been a whole lot shorter and I would have been ok with that.

*Disclaimer, I did not finish the last 80 pages, got the cliff notes from a friend who read it*
