The majority of the characters are deeply unlikable and the only way the book could get you to root for the protagonist was to make a random side character a stereotypical mean girl villain in the last fourth of the story. There was also some weird Quaker propaganda in the book, but the book also didn’t seem to treat the faith with much respect.

Unfortunately this was a huge let down based on the other two books in the series. It felt much longer and while her other main characters are sometimes whiny, it  wasn’t so relaxing reading about someone whining about so much in her life-family, job, love life…
