Love her books, and this one doesn't disappoint. If I wished for anything it would be a bit more developed ending as I felt she wraps it up too quickly and you can guess what will happen with the remaining characters. Rebecca is the gold standard to me for Du Maurier novels and hard to top, but I found myself not wanting to put this down. I also learned that if ever stranded around the moors in Cornwall to avoid the marshy, low areas for fear of being sucked down.

Well... wasn't really that good in the end because the plot twist wasn't really a plot twist and then the ending enrolled way too quickly. My opinion but oh well still quite enjoyable to read
3.5 stars! I think this is my least favorite book by my favorite author Daphne du Maurier. I just didn’t feel invested in the story of wreckers and Mary’s journey was not convincing and her actions were too unstable for me to fully get into the world. Why she would sell her farm and move in with her aunt and her husband as an outsider, I will never understand. All in all, I didn’t feel the excitement and rush to finish it.

I really enjoyed this novel. The descriptions of the characters and settings were wonderful and towards the end I was completely gripped. I read this on my dad's recommendation because we're going there next week, so I'm excited now to see this whole location in real life!
