Summary
100 Ghosts: A Gallery of Harmless Haunts written and illustrated by Doogie Horner is a collection of 100 illustrations of ghosts with different personas.
In the foreword, Horner states his intention of the book is to show ghosts aren't scary. He wants readers to know ghosts are friendly and cute.
The ghosts have distinct personalities and traits. Some ghosts are a play on celebrities (such as Marilyn Monroe), some are a play on famous literary characters (such as Charlie Brown), and some are a play on stereotypes (such as Radical), among other original and interesting personas.
It's a quick read for people of all ages to enjoy, full of humour and cute illustrations.

Review
I loved this book. I got through it quickly because I wanted to see what the next ghost was going to be like.
The different ghosts were cute, humorous and had distinct personalities.
I liked all of the ghosts. I thought they were cute and quirky. My favourite ghosts include Marilyn Monroe, Trick or Treat, Eating Spaghetti, Marsupial, With Cherry on Top, All Up in Your Grill, and Checking iPhone.
I recommend this book for people of all ages who want a cute, quick and humorous read, and to anyone who has a fear of ghosts which needs banishing.

This not just a "children's book". It's for anyone who likes cuteness, and illustrations, and ghosts... This book explores different looks for the "traditional" ghost, and let me tell you... they are ADORABLE! And incredibly creative! There's just the right amount of pop culture references, yet not so many that would "date" the book.

Nevermind the godchild, *I'm* going to be re-reading this book many times to come! I can't even pick a favorite ghost -- there are too many ones that I love! I do know which one my godchild's father would like best, though... :) But, I'm not going to tell... I think I'll have him read the book and see if we agree on which one is his favorite. :)

If these ghosts came in sticker-format, or as prints, I'd have them on everything. A llama-ghost on my phone... Ghost portraits on the living room wall...

This is one book that I don't really want to put on the bookshelf... I'd rather have it on the counter so anyone stopping by can pick it up and fall in love, just as I have.

Disclaimer: Just so you know, I'd be raving about this book even if I hadn't received a free copy from Random House, but... I did. Thank you, Goodreads First Reads! :)

How can something be creative and lazy at the same time? there’s no story there, not a fun nor emotional read, just hundreds of different ghosts drawings.

This book is a fun read. As author, Mr. Horner points out there is no scary ghost just a scary pregnant possum. That is a whole another story. So there are so many ghosts that I have not met or even thought about. Some of my favorite ghosts featured in this book are...after a bath ghost, Marilyn Monroe ghost, Nudist ghost, Friendly ghost, Party ghost, and Terrycloth ghost to name a few. To be honest, I actually fell in love with all of the ghosts in this book. The pictures were great. It is just too bad I can not show you shome of them. Guess you will just have to pick up a copy of thie book for yourself. 100 Ghosts is a ghostly read!

This was a really cute book. From the cover to the pages, it is simple. I managed to read it in one sitting in under fifteen minutes. I am positive that it would be appropriate for all age groups to read. It is full of humor, and it features different characters from popular culture from the past and the present. I was surprised to see Grumpy Cat included, but it definitely made me giggle.
