This is by far my least favorite Christina Lauren novel thus far. It was just kind of boring and the plot was just meh. Also the romance just wasn’t it. Oh well, read it for a quarterly challenge so lesson learned.
lighthearted
fast-paced
This is a cute office romance. I know a lot of reviews complain that there was too much focus on the office and not enough on the romance, but personally I really enjoyed the glimpse into office life.
I'm a college student working her way through school, so the office life is not one that I'm familiar with. This book really took me away into a world of happy hour drinks, appetizers, and meetings over lunch. I know it was probably a lot more glamorized compared to reality, especially because these people are from Hollywood, but regardless it really captivated me.
The love story was good too. This was about two adults trying to find the balance between romance and responsibility. Which is what real life is like. Sometimes lust and a pretty face isn't the solution to all of your life's problems, and this book shows that with two career-driven MCs.

I didn't really feel this book. It just wasn't that interesting for me. This was supposed to be a love/war kind of book, but the war aspects were sort of highlighted. Would have loved to have more of that especially . I guess the love aspects weren't that detailed either, come to think of it. A huge chunk of this book revolved around their work, which tended to be quite boring.
Audiobook - the narrators were decent.

No I don’t want to go for a review... I don’t feel even.
Anyways I got this book because I had a craze of reading their books after all they write (so good) but when I start reading it my all assumptions’ (bubble burst) and leave me with frustration and lost. This book claim to be ALL’s FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR
But all I read was office charade and useless stuff totally.
Not for a second find chemistry between Evie and Carter it was so robotic and weird.
All the while I was looking for some good pet but believe me this one was a major disappointment
So much that I don’t want to review it longer or in detailed. Not what I expect from authors, seriously

I'm so happy I listened to my friend Amber.... you see, I started listening to this book and it wasn't grabbing my attention. The Heroine is 33 yrs old and is successful and has things in life as she wants them and has wanted them so far. YET, it seemed like this was going to be a heroine that looks down upon herself or where she has friends that were "more" than she and she seemed to need to compete.
THANKFULLY, again, thanks to my friend Amber I kept listening and was happy to learn the story gets much better.
