Pygmalion meets The Yellow Wallpaper. Miller's prose, as always, is beautifully composed and has a harrowing power, but Pygmalion is so vilely evil that the story lacks nuance. Think about how much more interesting that ending would be if the reader felt even some ambivalence toward him -- if he weren't Literally the Worst Person in the World.

"He had no chance, really. He was only flesh."

This was an interesting short retelling of Galatea's story. The ending was the best part!

Dark and/but beautifully written (and not in a purple prose kind of way).
