I'll preface this by saying I read it to my son and I haven't read the first three.  Suspect he would give it a five out of five.
Things I loved: the characters are really nicely drawn, there's a clear effort at representation even if the hero is a white boy. There was genuine drama and plot. There were some good jokes as well. The world building is pretty convincing. It is a superb allegory for what is happening in our world right now with the rise of fascism and with very privileged people pointing the finger at the poorest and most vulnerable in the world.
Things I didn't love: it didn't need be over 400 pages long. I know I am not the intended audience but some points were rather labored. Things are always said multiple times. Some of the ways that the author has set up the world mean that it gets really rather convoluted. I kept wandering how much she regretted having all unicorns have 2 names. And it's my fault for not having read the first three but I couldn't follow all of the detail on Weavers and bonds and bone staff.
