I was sent a copy of this book by Nobrow books in exchange for an honest review so thank you so much! This was so freaking cute!

This is a queer YA graphic novel following Ella and Madeleine. Ella has been secretly obsessed with Madeline for ages but hasn’t gotten up the courage to speak to her until they bump into each other at a house party. Fast forward to the next day and Ella wakes up hungover with a bunch of trinkets she stole from the house party while drunk. Madeleine turns up at the house to check if Ella is okay after going home on her own the night before and it turns out that it was Madeleine’s house party and therefore Ella has stolen her stuff. Ella obviously panics but Madeleine is not all that she seems and the two begin to scheme how to put things right while exploring their relationship with each other.

As I said, this was so cute. The art style was absolutely beautiful, I loved the use of different colours throughout the novel and the illustrations were so meaningful. I think this really captured two teenagers on the precipice of the fun parts of being a senior in high school while conveying the struggles these characters are going through as they transition into adulthood.

I also love that there is NO homophobia in this. I’m not saying that I don’t think it’s important to convey the prejudice and challenges that the LGBTQ+ community face, it definitely is, but it was so nice to read about two girls just falling in love and exploring their sexuality freely.

This is an underrated gem that is perfect for pride month and especially for young people who may be going through the same situations as these characters. It came out in October last year so it’s available to purchase now!

adoro el art style, las lineas y el character design son muy charmings para mi. la historia es muy light hearted pero se mantiene engaging e interesante enough y no qeda demasiado plana, aunq sigue siendo un high school slice of life. cute as hell! tho unrelatable

Very cute. I could see this rivalling "Heartstopper" and being turned into a fun mini series.

I love a gay romance where the main issue of the story isn't their queerness, but something else entirely; while it's important to talk about the struggles the LGBTQA+ community faces just for existing, I think it's equally important to illustrate people as just being people, to normalize a concept instead of making it something 'other' that needs to be fussed over.

The concept of reverse thieving was really fun, and I appreciate the the best friend wasn't entirely demoted to a side character when the relationship started - they continued to play a central role, which doesn't often happen in romance stories.
