A beautiful book about three generations of Indigenous girls/women. It depicts the horrors of colonialism and it's effects on this family. This is definitely an intense book, obviously if you know anything of the history of the US. I took my time with this novel because it's definitely a difficult read. I did have to remind myself that the POV characters were children because often the writing was rather sophisticated for children, or maybe that's just my view of the language from a modern perspective.
