DNF - I really wanted to like this book because I watch a lot of YouTube videos from Joe and they are super inspiring and insightful. This book started off really really interesting, but then got more into the neuroscience part and I just couldn’t get into it. I think people that like reading medical journals and really in depth science stuff would enjoy this book. Just not for me.

De la pagina 300 in sus vorbeste despre stres si anxietate daca pentru asta ati cumparat cartea, oricum interesanta.

I really liked this book and as soon as I finished it I felt like re-reading it again, but I felt that it lost me in several chapters. Not necessarily because it can be a bit on the technical side, but because of the way the book overall is balanced. It does talk about the intricacies of brains workings, how it processes information on several different situations, how diet affects it etc. The problem is that the technical and the practical information feel somewhat apart. The book does feel a bit more palatable near the end, when the technical info and the practical seem to mingle better, specially when it comes to the subject of depression and creating habits, but I still feel that it could have been a bit more on the practical side.
Still, it's a pretty good book. I'm looking forward for a second read.

I personally would give this book closer to 2.5 stars, but I think that's probably unfair--the reason is because I learned nothing new, simply because I've studied this concept so thoroughly before. I ended up skipping a lot of chapters when I got too bored, skipping to some that had more intriguing topic headers. It went into the neuroscience of how changing the way you think, your beliefs and expectations, ultimately ends up changing your brain and making the impossible, possible. There are no shortcuts or "ah-has" in this book that I've not heard elsewhere... this process still takes an enormous amount of hard work, willpower, and dedication. But even knowing that it's possible is more than most are aware of, so it's an important book for that reason.
