The more I think about this book the more I wish I managed my expectations going into it. It's a spicy interracial, billionaire romance with a single dad. I was on a very emotional romance kick before going into this and I think if I wanted a spicy book this would have been a perfect palate cleanser. What I loved most about this book was Tara's family. They were entertaining and authentic. However, I'm hesitant to call this an enemies to lovers because there wasn't a good reason for Ethan and Tara not to like each other. Their quick "hatred" for each other was also marked by Tara acting like a child but quickly being called out by her dad (again why her family was my favorite). Ethan's ex was an amazing villain because she continued to tap dance on my last nerve. I personally cheered anytime Tara snapped back at her. My only other major issue was Ethan's handling of race issues that bothered Tara. I feel that Tara made very good points about wanting to experience Black love, the racism she experiences, and how members of Ethan's family would/have treated her. Ethan seemed to blow every single one of her worries off. I felt that there were multiple moments where these very real issues could have been discussed with care but were instead ignored by the rich, white, hero. Personally, I would have preferred if the issues were just not brought up in the first place rather than have Tara's feelings be invalidated.

That being said, the scenes were hot, and the drama was entertaining, if that's what you're looking for, this book is for you!
